Are You Feeling Stuck in a Negative Cycle of Feelings, Outlook, or Experiences?
Healthcare Provider Happy Hour Podcast

October 19, 2020 Join me over a glass of water as I chat with you about reflecting on where you are right now and asking yourself if what you're thinking/feeling/experiencing is in alignment with thriving. If not, it's time to disrupt persistent negative experiences with the following: 1) List 5-10 gratitudes in the AM or PM (both is best!) 2) Connect and write what it is you deeply and specifically desire for your well-being. Be so specific that it feels like you've already obtained it. 3) Focus on what you can control, what you're grateful for, and what you desire (vs. focusing on all that you don't see as going well or what you desire) and attract more of that into your life. If you liked this podcast, please subscribe, share and leave an honest review. Disclaimer: All views are my own and for informational …

10% Happier with Dan Harris
The Opposite of Schadenfreude | Election Sanity Series | Tuere Sala
10% Happier with Dan Harris

There’s an old expression: “Every time a friend succeeds, I die a little bit.” I love that saying, because it speaks to how hard it can be to take pleasure in other people’s happiness. That said, while it may be difficult, it is not impossible -- and moreover, as our guest today will argue, it’s a massively useful skill, especially as we endure this bonkers election. Welcome to week three of our special Election Sanity podcast series. Every Monday in October, we’re tackling a mental skill drawn from an ancient Buddhist list known as the Four Brahma Viharas, or the Four Heavenly Abodes. Don’t be fooled by the high falutin’ name; these skills are eminently achievable, and massively helpful. I can say this based on both personal experience, and also a significant amount of scientific research. In the previous two episodes, we explored loving-kindness (also …
