Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of conversing with many an Olympian, each with a uniquely impressive journey from obscurity to heights most can’t fathom. But what happens after the medal ceremony wraps, the klieg lights shutter, and the career comes to a close? When your entire life is centered on a moment now passed, how do you then shift overnight from podium to pedestrian? One would presume the many skills learned as an athlete -- mindset, focus, discipline, and teamwork -- would translate to seemless success in the civilian world. Ironically, that presumption would be misplaced. In truth, this transition is fraught, and has felled some the greatest competitors among us. We love to celebrate our Olympic heroes. We relish in the dissection of their habits, wrapt in what makes them tick; what makes them great; and what distinguishes the very best from …

The virus has exploited so many weaknesses of our culture. But having exposed the weaknesses, such as inequities and reckless individualism, could the current crisis lead to a fundamental shift for humankind? That may sound utopian, but our guest today believes it’s genuinely possible. Dr. Jonathan Salk is an adult and child psychiatrist at UCLA. He’s been thinking about the future of the species for about 40 years, starting when he co-authored a book called A New Reality with his father, Dr. Jonas Salk. You might’ve heard of him. In this episode of the podcast, Dr. Daniel and Tana Amen discuss how September is likely to change people’s anxiety levels, as well as some practical tips they can use to keep calm and collected.

I was nervous... https://youtu.be/g_c_l29kPvo LISTEN TO THE PODCAST WHY I BELIEVE THAT TIME IS ALL ABOUT MOMENTS I will never forget the moment where I understood: "Wow...that's what life is about!" It could have been a great insight coming to me by sitting on a fancy hotel terrace, watching the ocean, with a nice wisp of a warm wind...but no, I was almost dying, lying in the snow, not able to move, in the middle of the night - not knowing where I was. Thanks god there was Lupa... Who is Lupa? You will know soon. Enjoy this episode! A little outtake: "Why are many people NOT experiencing these kind of moments in their everyday life. Because they are stuck in their tornado of life. They feel captured, almost imprisoned in a system, a matrix with to-do lists and deadlines. This tornado is a trap and …
